Bank Indonesia Revoke and Interesting 4 Fractions Banknotes from Circulation

Bank Indonesia as of December 31, 2008, through the Regulation of Bank Indonesia (PBI) No.. 10/33/PBI/2008 formally revoked and draw 4 (four) fractional banknotes from circulation. Denomination banknotes are revoked and withdrawn are as follows:
1. 10,000 Year Emissions (TE) in 1998 (Figure Face: National Hero Cut Nyak Dien),
2. Rp20.000 Year Emissions (TE) in 1998 (Figure Face: National Hero Ki Hajar Dewantara),
3. 50,000 Year Emissions (TE) in 1999 (Figure Face: National Hero WR. Soepratman), and
4. 100,000 Year Emissions (TE) 1999 (Front Image: Heroes and Dr. Proclaimers Dr.Ir.Soekarno. H. Mohammad Hatta, made of polymer).
"Bank Indonesia routinely perform revocation and withdrawal of the rupiah. This is done with consideration, among others, long shelf-life and development of the technology element of safety (security features) on the money ", it said by S. Budi Rochadi, Deputy Governor of the field of circulation of money.
With the revocation and withdrawal from circulation of the rupiah as of December 31, 2008, four pieces of money is no longer valid as legal tender (legal tender).
However, for people who still holds the shards of money can do with money exchange rupiah denomination or other denomination that still prevails in the offices of Bank Indonesia or the nearest commercial bank. The deadline for the exchange of four fractional money in commercial banks is up to the date of December 30, 2013 or 5 (five) years from the revocation and withdrawal of money. Meanwhile, the deadline exchange at Bank Indonesia is up to the date of December 30, 2018 or for 10 (ten) years from the date of revocation. The right to demand redemption of the four pieces of money rupiah revoked and withdrawn will not be valid after 10 (ten) years from the date of December 31, 2018. & Background
